This Running Fundamentals Session is suited to all running abilities, even those who’ve completed multiple marathons. If you are an experienced runner, Dan’s training methods will open the door to ‘another way’ training. On the other hand if you are fairly new to running and are aiming to complete your first 5-10k fun run then you will gain an insight into how to safely prepare yourself to complete your race uninjured and in good shape.

Topics include:

  • Basic running programming
  • Common injuries
  • Run specific strengthening routines
  • Technique analysis and drills
  • Nutrition and recovery techniques

More experienced runners will benefit from also attending the Advanced Running Seminar being run directly afterwards.  Advanced runners will need to attend the Fundamentals session to attend the advanced session directly afterwards.

About Daniel McTainsh:

Dan is a specialist in strength training for endurance sports. Over the past 10 years he’s competed in all triathlon distances from sprint all the way up to Ironman distance triathlon including over 10 long-course triathlons. In 2014 he qualified for the 2014 World Half Ironman Triathlon Championships & competed in theNZ Ironman Triathlon in 2015. In addition to Triathlons, he’s completed a number of Running Marathons, including the ever-popular Gold Coast Marathon multiple times, Toowoomba, Brisbane & Queenstown Marathons.

Dan has recently been selected to attend the prestigious A.I.S. Triathlon Performance Coaching Course in 2015.
