Regardless of your preferred sport, exercise or fitness options, core strength is vital to higher performance, better technique and prevention of injury. It also provides essential body re-alignment to those who lead a more sedentary lifestyle and/or sit at an office desk all day. The lack of impact and ballistic movement in these sessions make it ideal for anyone with health issues which don’t allow for this.  It is perfect for “beginners” in fitness, or people re-starting after injury. But don’t be fooled, these sessions allow for more advanced training which will have the fittest athletes feeling very challenged!
Core strength training at Fit Connections is designed to develop strength, flexibility and mental & physical well-being via Pilates training methodologies. The fundamental emphasis is on building endurance in the core stabilising muscles, activating these before engaging other muscles to increase muscle effectiveness, reduce injury and improve posture.
Pilates is highly effective only when participants understand the precise muscle activations needed to work the core correctly. Unlike regular gyms, we recognise that this cannot be done in a large class group environment, therefore only eight participants included in each session. Bookings are essential.  We highly recommend that all regular participants complete two 1-on-1 Fundamentals sessions with Cat within a month or so of starting to ensure that correct habits are learnt early to develop the right muscle memory; and so that everyone in the group can progress to more advanced techniques.
Our Core Strength and Fitness Training incorporates Maow Pilates Group Sessions and Pilates Fit Group Training.
Pilates Fit Training is INCLUDED in our regular Fit Connections weekly training sessions, and like all of our training, we welcome Casual visitors to these also at our standard Casual rates. Bookings are essential.
Maow Pilates Group sessions are operated directly by our Pilates Instructor, Cat Watters, within the Fit Connections warehouse.  All Maow Pilates are paid via Casual single payments or via Casual-pack multiple visit passes, paid directly to Cat. Once again, to ensure optimum service, bookings are essential.
